I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA) and was exposed to a rich food culture at a young age. In 2005 I moved to NYC where I studied at The French Culinary Institute and The Natural Gourmet Cooking School where I learned about Eastern Chinese theories and their relationship with food. I escaped to Southern California for a year where I was introduced to authentic Mexican cuisine, something my palate couldn't get enough of. I returned to New York and began working under Danny Meyer at his unique restaurant, Hecho en Dumbo. There I learned the core of authentic Mexico City cuisine where EVERYTHING was made in house (chorizo, cheese, tortillas, salsas, etc.) In the summer of 2010 I packed up my things and headed to Central & South America for the trip of a lifetime. Four months later I returned to the states where I decided that moving abroad was the next step. 7 weeks later I returned to Buenos Aires with suitcases full of necessities- cast iron skillets, food processors, mandolines, Creole mustard, and more. Since arriving in BA I have been working as a private chef with an emphasis on natural whole ingredients, something I'm extremely passionate about. I've also paired up with a local chef and together we started Dos Chicas Catering, a company that focuses on Creole and Mexican cuisines, something that is non-existent in this magical country. We are both firm believers in "You are what you eat" and that quality is the most important element in the kitchen. As for now we are toying with the idea of starting a closed door restaurant, however finding a location has been our biggest challenge. But just because you can't come to us, doesn't mean we can't come to you. Please contact us at DosChicasCatering@gmail.com if you think we can assist you in anyway.
