PipsDish is the most wonderful restaurant. The food and wine are always superb and you never know who you're going to meet at dinner. Of course the icing on the cake is dishy Pip himself, the chef extraordinaire and host with the most. Don't just book it, let PipsDish cook it!
We had an unforgettable experience with fabulous food and wine, beautifully presented. I especially enjoyed the fonteluna sausage salad and the baked peaches. Philip is an inventive chef and uses the very best ingredients. A very enjoyable evening and cheap at twice the price.
The idea of being in the chefs world... in his kitchen... his conversation and thoughts... and in his bliss is heaven. Well almost. Pip is not only a passionate cook but is inspiring and thought provoking. It certainly was not just a food thing as Pip seems to be about experiences, both cerebral and experiential. Love it!
A warm welcome always helps and we weren't disappointed. Six courses served and each dish was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the Brasato al Barolo with Cavalo Nero served with a delicious Chateau la Bouscade, there was a Tomato Sugo with Calamari, which I don't normally enjoy, however it too was good. We enjoyed a delicious vegetable consomme at the beginning, a delightful dish of golden beetroot and artichoke served with Fonteluna and other yummy delights. As always the highlights to so many meals is dessert and we were not disappointed. Delicious peach amarettini and a melting yummy icecream of vanilla marscapone. We had never been to a 'pop up' before and enjoyed our experience and very much hope to be invited back. You meet a variety of people from all walks of life. Conversation and laughter flowed. In conclusion when one can enjoy good food, good company and an excellent host it can only equal a good time!
I LOST COUNT OF THE NUMBER OF COURSES PERHAPS INDICITIVE OF THE NUMBER OF BOTTLES OF WINE IMBIBED! ALL WERE EXCELLENT.
IT WAS GREAT FUN AND MY WIFE AND I MADE SOME NEW INTERESTING FRIENDS AND CAUGHT UP WITH SOME OF THE OLD SUSPECTS!
