About the Chef
Chef Whitney Flood is an award-winning chef. He graduated from The New England Culinary Institute, Montpelier Vermont in June of 2001. He began his professional career as an intern working his way up into a Sous Chef position at Sierra Mar Restaurant in Big Sur California. (Zagat Rated Number 1 in cuisine, 2003). While working at Sierra Mar, Whitney developed his cooking techniques using seasonal, organic, local foods always eager to experiment with new and unusual parings. A distinctive quality at Sierra Mar is it’s daily changing menu, which challenged and inspired Whitney. After honing his craft at Sierra Mar he moved to New York City and began working with Tocqueville – an awarding winning French Restaurant in Union Square. He started right off as their catering chef, organizing events ranging from a ten person dinner party to five hundred person gala’s with wine pairings and gourmet cuisine. Next in line was the Chef position for Marion’s A Go-Go, a catering company notorious in New York City for its elite fashion clientele. While at Marion’s, Whitney’s (Chorizo and Grilled Sourdough Baguette with Oil Piménton) received a full page write up in June’s 2006 issue of Time Out New York. Since opening his own business in Los Angeles he has been awarded two years in row best Entrée for the Nationwide “Cervena” Venison Contest. He also won awards for his Tapas creations through the annual Taste of Spain Contest.

Whitney and Julie are top professionals. Their organization, service and, of course, amazing food is second to none. The Muddy Leak Underground Dinner at the Tuscali Mountain Inn was magical night I will cherish for years to come.

The Muddyleek Underground dinner was absolutely amazing! From the moment you walk in, to the end when you sadly have to leave, Whitney and his wife have created an amazing culinary experience.
What an amazing event. The pace was perfect, I was able to eat every course (5 in all) and still eat dessert! Food was abundant and a delight to the taste buds. Bravo Whitney!

A fun and social evening with great people and great food from the moment we arrived. What a great idea to have a dinner party where people can mingle and enjoy getting to meet new friends. Loved the small plates, as we were able to try so many different courses, creatively cooked with a wonderful blend of flavors and textures.
The Muddy Leak Underground Dinners are the best kept culinary secret in Los Angeles. The food rivals any of L.A.'s best and Chef Flood always adds his own personal wrinkle. While the food experience is unique and memorable, the setting is also something worth mentioning. Set outdoors in beautiful residential yards/patios, you are invited into a warm gathering of friends. If you enjoy world-class food, fantastic wine choice, and good people, you MUST check out a Muddy Leak Underground Dinner.

Muddyleak Underground is an intimate dinner experience that's not to be missed. delicious gourmet food with many courses and fine wine is what's on the menu; but what unexpectedly comes along with the cuisine is amazing service, wonderfully warm company, and the feeling that you've stumbled onto something so special you wonder how you got so lucky to find it. I normally don't give five stars to anything, but this isn't just anything. Rather, it is a treat. I can't wait to indulge myself by attending the next Muddyleak Underground dinner, and you shouldn't either.
