service and hospitality were excellent. food was delicious. great atmosphere.
however: room was hot. we were not given enough presentation about the chef and hosts. It would have been nice to hear everyone's personal story and how bunna cafe came about. i would attend again.

The food was great and the hosts wonderful. the only distracting component was the fact that it was so hot in the apartment. Aside from the heat it was a great experience. I would attend another event in the future.

The food was delicious! The hosts were very nice and the food tasted a lot fresher and more flavorful that most of the Ethiopian food you can get in NYC. Highly recommended!

This was our first pop-up dinner and now we're hooked. The atmosphere, the staff, and the food was all incredible. It was a great experience getting to speak with the creators. When it comes to food there is a wonderful sense of community in Brooklyn; if you want a unique experience that makes you even prouder to be a part of this neighborhood treat yourself to a wonderful night with Sam and the team. We're looking forward to seeing them again.

I absolutely loved the intimate atmosphere of a 'secret' dinner party. If you are willing to attend this kind of event with an open mind, you're guaranteed an amazing experience. I got to chat with other diners as well the staff, which helped make the experience unique and unforgettable. This was my first time eating Ethiopian food, and it was absolutely delicious and looked just as good. I can't wait for another dinner and look forward to Bunna opening a permanent cafe.
great time and delicious food! loved that there was so much food, we could have seconds. it was a bit hot without much A/C, but i appreciate how proactive you were with refilling our water glasses. thanks!
I loved the homey, friendly environment. The food was delicious, and the service was good. I felt like we were being fed by a young, hip version of my Italian grandmother, always asking if we'd like some more food, and filling up our plates until we were completely stuffed. But it was all healthy vegan food so of course it was a pleasant kind of full. It was also an educational experience: we learned about the foods and traditions of Ethiopian culture, and were presented with a customary coffee ceremony. I am definitely going to the next one and inviting all my friends to join me!

My favorite part about the event was how attentive the servers were and how they made sure that everyone was satisfied. I would recommend others to attend this event and I would attend again.
I loved the food! The atmosphere was perfect and the music was wonderful. This was my first event, but I would certainly attend another. I hope you can host one in DC sometime (let me know if I can be helpful)! I'd also love to learn how to make some of the food - I wonder if that could be another event in the future. Thanks again!

The food was outstanding. Wonderful ambiance and guests. Communal tables allow for meeting new people. This is the second one I have attended. I am a fan through and through. Can't wait for the next one !
It was a lovely evening, everything about it was really nice. It wasn't exquisite or exceptional, but I wouldn't expect that for the price! It was well worth the money though and I would definitely go to the restaurant that they are planning on opening. The best thing was sharing the food with new people and eating with your hands. I havnt attended any of their events before but I would definitely go again and recommend it to other people.

Before this event, I had one experience with Ethiopian food and it was not so good. I had also experienced several subpar vegan meals.
But last night, Bunna Cafe TOTALLY REDEEMED both Ethiopian and Vegan food for me. Seriously, the food was delicious, fresh, and filling. The Honey Wine was amazing. The atmosphere was very laid back. Best of all, Sam, the rest of the crew, and the rest of the attendees were incredibly friendly and fun to be around.
I have been to many underground restaurants and secret dinners, but this was one was one of the best executed and most fun. I will definitely attend the next Bunna Cafe event and make sure to bring some friends.
I suggest you do the same!

This is what underground dining should be! Delicious food and drinks in a great environment surrounded by good company.
This dinner completely redeemed Ethiopian AND vegan food for me at once. For that alone I'm thankful- this is an event I will recommend to all and come back to in the future!
