Great evening; excellent ambience and lots of lovely food!

To my dear vegetarian and vegan followers, please stop reading after the next full stop. A dinner in entirely for you is in the planning for the spring.
And hello to my omnivorous locavores! The penultimate pop-up restaurant evening for 2011 is going to be a Game Night. No, not a night of playing board games but a dinner where the beautifully cooked meat from birds plucked from wild skies, or animals taken by surprise on a Highland, is going to be served to you. Tis the season where my eyes are drawn to all sorts of new delights that are on display at my butchers. I am really not a fan of very well hung, funky tasting game so the meat at this dinner will not be of that calibre. I enjoy game for the richer flavour it boasts and it's leanness in comparison to the usual meats us omnivores eat on a regular basis.
For every ticket bought for this dinner, £4 is going to be sent to a charity that has been brought to my attention recently called The Magic Breakfast - http://www.magicbreakfast.com/. We all know how we feel when we are walking along in the morning, or sitting on the bus on our way to work, and we see young children munching on crisps or Haribo or knocking back a can of coke on their way to school. And we also get the idea that given the chance, their lunches and dinners will be about the same nutritional value. Something is not right is it it? The Magic Breakfast charity works with over 200 primary schools across the UK, making sure that kids whose parents can't afford healthy, nutritious food, get a good start to the day. As we all know, a good breakfast gives their developing brains more of an ability to learn which in turns offers them better life chances from this early stage.
The menu will be something along the lines of the following, but it subject to change:
❤ Canapes
Rabbit terrine served on French bread with cornichons
Roasted grouse on pomme purée with crispy pancetta and a red wine jus, served on a spoon.
❤ Starter
Venison Carpaccio. Rocket. Home grown beetroot. Home grown, home made blackcurrant dressing.
❤ Main
Traditional roasted Cotswold partridge. Home made game chips. Broccoli. Roasted carrots. Bread sauce. Gravy. Home made crab apple jelly.
❤ Pudding
Salted caramel ice cream with chocolate biscotti
❤ Digestif
Fresh mint tea
