Reviews of Summer Beer Dinner feat. Goose Island - 6:30pm
Description
We had such a great time at our Speakeasy Beer Dinner, we couldn’t help but turn it around and squeeze another one in before the end of the summer!
On Thursday July 26, we will bring you a beer pairing dinner featuring many vintage ales from Goose Island Beer and a 5-course menu written and executed by Chef Matthew Garelick. The dinner will take at 6:30pm and 9:00pm in two grouped seatings.
We are thrilled to have Chef Matt back at the helm for this dinner. Chef Matt (Sous Chef at Wall and Water Restaurant) has created a menu based on locally-sourced summer ingredients that will pair great with the unique flavors of Goose Island. Courses include a Citrus Cured Salmon, Grilled Octopus, and Cripy Stuffed Quail (full menu below).
The 5-course menu will be paired with many of Goose Island’s Vintage Ales series, including the Sofie, Matilda and Pere Jacques. Goose Island was founded in 1988 as a response to the domestic, mass-produced beer that was deeply ingrained in Midwestern culture. The brewpub became so popular that in 1995, Hall decided to open a larger brewery and bottling plant to keep up with demand. A second brewpub was opened in 1999 near Wrigley Field. Goose Island was purchased by Anheuser-Busch in 2011, and currently features a selection of 50 craft beers and is distributed in 36 states and Europe.
The price is $50 per person (plus sales tax and gratuity) with a reservation, $60 without. Reservations could be made by emailing me at lawrence@manchesterpubnyc.com.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our beer dinner series. The Manchester Pub features the best beer dinners in New York City, and that is due to our patrons and fans, who have helped sell out every dinner thus far. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday July 26.
